OSN Short Story: Secret of the Letsoos

1,000 years ago in India, there were small, bearded white dogs called letsoos. Everyone thought they were magical and had powers like telekinesis and teleportation so they worshipped them. But the letsoos decided they wanted an ordinary life and, to have this, they would have to keep their powers a secret.
In time, most people forgot about the letsoos. If a random letsoo accidentally showed their powers, the person who witnessed it would be called crazy. After a while, no one remembered…

The Shackley family—mom, dad, sister and brother—decided they needed a pet. At the pet store, the mom and dad allowed Nina, the 9 year old, to pick whichever pet she wanted. Right away, she was drawn to a furry white dog. None of the other animals would do.
The Shackley family bought the dog and decided to name it Cookie Crunch. Everyone in the family was very happy with Cookie Crunch except the mom. It seemed like every time she walked in a room, the dog acted very strange. One day, the mom was folding laundry in the living room and noticed Cookie Crunch staring straight at her. In the blink of an eye, he was gone. Just then, the mom heard Nina laughing upstairs and the sound of Cookie Crunch’s collar was jingling in the background. How did the dog get upstairs so quickly?
No one else in the family believed the mom that there was something weird about Cookie Crunch. Then one day, the mom let the dog out into the fenced in yard while she was pulling weeds. All of a sudden, she heard the sound of the lawn mower. She was confused because the dad was at work and he was the one to always mow the grass. She looked up to see the lawn mower moving all by itself! Nearby, Cookie Crunch lay with a strange look in his eyes.
When the dad came home with the children after a day of work and school, they found the mom laying speechless in the middle of a freshly cut yard. Cookie Crunch was inside barking at the door.
As the ambulance took the mom away, Cookie Crunch cuddled into his dog bed with a very satisfied look on his little bearded face.
