Dozens of people have showed up this morning at a women’s march in Selinsgrove.
The Orange Street News interviewed people at the event to see why they were there. Many said they were worried about Donald Trump, who became President of the United States yesterday.
“I feel like you have to make a statement in your own community,” event organizer Arden Miller told the Orange Street News.
Marcher Kelly Griswold told OSN she was worried about her body and the earth.
“I am worried about the environment. Everybody should have clean air to breath. Everybody should have control of there own body,” said Griswold.
Other people wanted to make sure women were respected.
“It’s important that we get the respect from our new president that we deserve. He serves as an example for men. I support Planned Parent Hood,” Beverly Conrad told the OSN.
“All people are important. The bill of rights were made for a lot of people not for a certain sect of people,” Jill Crisan told the OSN.
America’s new president has said that he will be a good president of all people, including woman.
The gathering in Selinsgrove is one of hundreds of Women’s March’s across the country today. The march should last until noon.
