2/17/2017

By Hilde Kate Lysiak

A seedy event has sprouted into a popular Snyder County tradition.

The annual Free Seed Exchange hosted by The East Snyder Community Garden will be February 18, 2017 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Rudy Gelnett Memorial Library.

The event is welcome to everyone. Gardeners are encouraged to bring seeds to share and pick up seeds for planting.

Green thumbs can also sign up to rent a plot at the event.

Hilde: For this adult journalist, who put in 26 years at newspapers including the Los Angeles Times, the Q-and-A with you in Quill magazine (Society of Professional Journalists) was a godsend. Not only is it chock full of concrete journalistic wonders, but I can, and will, use it in my college classroom to inspire students, with the subtle implication that, hey, if a 10-year-old can do this, I don’t want to hear any excuses. Thanks to you, and your parents, for giving the First Amendment a great workout.
