Firstly I would like to say your coverage is very important during these times and that from what I’ve seen from you I highly value your opinion as a reporter. However the technical difficulties in this video are greatly detrimental to your story. A cheap clip on mic would really help with hearing what you’re saying over the loudness of your environment as a lot of the time the cameras mic just doesn’t pick up what you are saying. If possible another cheap mic and wireless sound pickup box for the camera would also help out a lot with interviews which I think are vital in this and every other story.
Great video! The audio is poor; but you could edit it with a voice-over to cover the sections where you can’t be heard; and yes get a handheld mic for yourself and for interviews. You also need to gear up for these protests; the police have been targeting journalists as I’m sure you are aware; you need a hard-shell skateboarding or motorcycle helmet and heavy-duty safety glasses to protect you from those tear gas pellets and flash-bang grenades and other “non-lethal” weapons used by the police to attack even the most peaceful of protests. And a gas mask would be also a good idea. A leather jacket and long pants as well – these demonstrations are being turned into war zones by the cops and you need all the protection you can wear. You’re doing a great job – be careful out there!
