A Selinsgrove family who lost their dog to a speeding hit and run driver is asking residents to please slow down before the next tragedy.
Beloved family dog Maxine was run over and killed last Wednesday after she ran out into the street in front of 315 S. Market Street in Selinsgrove at 3:45pm. The speeding driver hit the dog and continued driving.
“They ran over Maxine didn’t even stop to see if she was okay,” Jamie Rickart told the Orange Street News.
Drivers speed all the time on the main road, according to Rickart. She hope that drivers slow down and fears that next time it might be a child that is struck.
“We watch people race by all time and it has to stop,” Rickart told the Orange Street News. “We are hoping whoever hit Maxine will step forward. We aren’t asking for money. We just want an apology.”
