Thirty three days after a Selinsgrove store was robbed of an expensive gun one of the crooks is still on the loose along with the stolen weapon!
Brandon Betancourt ran when police tried to arrest him after he swiped a Smith and Wesson M&P from High Velocity Firearms at 8 N. Market St he still hasn’t been arrested.
“I understand certain crimes take precedence. I also understand when a criminal isn’t from this area, it becomes difficult to pursue them,” Gun shop owner John Margel told the Orange Street News.
His accomplice Daniel J. Keenan, 26, has been nabbed and is in Snyder County Prison on $100,000 bail. He faces up to six felony counts of retail theft, theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy.
The Selinsgrove Police were unavailable for comment
If anyone has information please contact John Margel at 570-486-6601 or the Selinsgrove Police Dept 570-374-8655
Hilde, a newspaper would normally refer to someone like Brandon Betancourt as a “suspect”, not a bandit or a crook. Journalistic impartiality requires you don’t refer to someone as a criminal, even if you think he is one, until he’s convicted of a crime.
