Hotel Cleaning Lady Allegedly Swipes Money out of Purse

A Sunbury cleaning lady was charged with theft after allegedly stealing over $100.00 from a hotel resident on July 22, 2018, according to police.
Heather Bernice Striplin, 29, was charged after a resident at Econo Lodge Inn & Suites located at 3249 N Susquehanna trail in Shamokin Dam Borough, placed her wallet containing over $100.00 down only to find when she returned her wallet was gone.
“The victim related that she put her wallet back in her purse, closed it and placed it on top of the microwave. The victim related that she then left the room. The victim related that she was gone for approx. 30 minutes and when she returned she immediately noticed that her purse was open. The victim related that when she opened her wallet she saw that the money was gone,” read the criminal complaint.
Striplin was charged with theft and receiving stolen property.
A hearing will be held at 1025 us rt 522, in Selinsgrove Pa, at 11/21 at 11:30.
