LOCAL WOMAN CHARGED FOR KEEPING WEAPON IN PURSE

A Shamokin woman was charged after allegedly keeping Brass Knuckles in her purse, on 3/23/19, according to police.

Shyanne Renee Reynolds, 27, was charged when in a search of the car she was passenger in police found Brass Knuckles in her purse.

“It was found that the registration was expired 12/18. Your Affaint activated his emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the parking lot of Orchard Hills shopping plaza. Your affiant approached the vehicle and asked the driver for his drivers license, registration and proof of insurance. The driver was identified as Justin Hummel by a PA drivers license. […] The female passenger was identified as Shyanne Reynolds […] Hummel stated to your defendant that since there was going to be a search of the vehicle, your affiant should know that he had a taeser in a black drawstring bag which was located on the floor between his feet. Hummel also stated that the Defendant had a set of brass knuckles in her bag/purse,” read the criminal complaint.

Reynolds was charged with Prohibited Offensive Weapons.

A hearing will be held on 5/8, at 2:15, at 1025 us rt 522, in Selinsgrove Pa.
