A Sunbury man was charged after allegedly stealing almost $80.00 worth of merchandise from a local Walmart in Monroe Township, on 4/16/19, according to police.
John Stanley Perles, was allegedly caught when he checked out at self checkout and didn’t scan several items. He did this twice on different days.
“The defendant failed to scan $35.15 worth of merchandise including a cordless blind, a bottle of coffee mate, a bottle of Silk brand almond milk, and a Color Place brand can of paint […] The defendant failed to scan $42.21 worth of merchandise [a few days later],” read the criminal complaint.
Perles was charged with Retail Theft, and Receiving Stolen Property.
