A local church is counting its blessings even though it suffered terrible damage.
Despite the trouble, every one is just happy that no one was hurt by the fire at Christ United Church.
“It could have been a lot worse,” John, a firefighter at the scene told the Orange Street News. “But we are all glad there were no people inside of there.”
On May 4, an electrical fire accidentally burned large portions of the building down.
“Thank God nobody got hurt,” said Angela, who was standing across the street when the fire started.
Agapeland preschool classes were suspended for the week, but began again Monday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church , which is nearby.
The fire brought the community together.
People from around the community have volunteered whatever they could do of the popular church, according to church members.
