Susquehanna University students are fighting back on what they say are aggressive policing by campus security.
A petition that was started by students demanding rights and privacy already has 563 signatures and is growing
“The students at Susquehanna University are being terrorized and harassed by the public safety officers here, however, their authority and blatant disregard for the rules leaves the SU student community with limited options, and fearful that they will be targeted if they do speak up,” the petition read.
Students have complained that public safety officers have been peeping through windows, holding students captive, and going through their bags.
“I transferred last year and one of the main reasons was because of how absurd authority uses its power at this school. Let the students actually enjoy college,” one student wrote in a comment.
The University was not immediately available for comment.
