A Selinsgrove man with an unnamed medical condition reached his goal on his GoFundMe page that will pay for an expensive test — thanks in part to kind OSN readers!
Chase Salter, who has an unnamed medical condition, has passed his goal of $5,000 on his GoFundMe page; that will pay for an expensive test that could finally solve the mystery that has kept him in the hospital.
“We couldn’t have reached the goal without everyone’s help,” Salter’s mom, Trish Salter, told the Orange Street News. She said a large amount of the donations came from generous OSN readers who saw the stories and wanted to help.
When the OSN spoke with Salter last month, he explained the test’s importance.
“I have the chance to have a very involved genetics test performed that could give me and my family some knowledge about what is medically wrong and how to work on moving forward from here with success! It is called Whole Exome and it studies every one of my 20,000 cells to find the cause of my issues,” said Chase.
The 18-year old student has had to have feeding tubes, surgeries, many hospitalizations because of the condition.
Trish Salter told the OSN that she can’t describe how grateful she is.
“I am so grateful to everybody who helped,” Salter told the OSN.
All the extra money from the GoFundMe page will go to Chase’s college education.
