A Selinsgrove woman is hoping to dance her way to raising money for a children’s hospital.
Maggie Groce is helping to organize a dance marathon at the gym in Saint Anthony’s on Elmira College Campus on Saturday, March 25th. Every penny earned from the Dance Marathon will go to Arnot Health hospital.
“We have activities and a variety of student clubs and performers come and entertain and participate,” Groce told the Orange Street News.
“Last year, we did an 8 hour straight event and raised a over $10,000, all for the kids! This year, we are doing a 12 hour straight event and we hope to raise $15,000 this year. ,” added Groce.
Groce, who was a “preemie baby,” said that participating in the Dance Marathon is her way to help give back.
“For me, its more than just a fun night for the campus. It’s about the Miracle Families (families with children who benefited from Children Miracle Hospitals) being able to have a fun night out. We treat the kids like royalty and they truly are the stars of the event. We roll out the red carpet and hear all of their stories and get to dance and have fun with them. Seeing the smiles on their little faces makes all the months of prep and hard work (and the tired and sore feet) worth it.,”Groce told the OSN.
