Sunbury Man Allegedly Breaks into Grove Apartment, Found Behind Sunoco Dumpster with Cocaine

A Sunbury man was charged with Burglary and Possession after allegedly attempting to break into a Selinsgrove apartment then being found behind a gas station dumpster where he was discovered with cocaine, according to police.

Jared Alan Brown allegedly crawled through a window of the W Sassasfras apartment but was caught when the resident was able to identify Brown as the person breaking in and called the police.

“Your affiant received a report from XXXX relating that someone had been attempting to break into her apartment at 13 w Sassafras St. Earlier in the week Snyder believed that the male attempting to break in was Jared Alan Brown,” read the criminal complaint.

Police got a description, the quickly spotted Brown behind a dumpster at Sunoco where he was found with drugs, according to police.

“You affiant found a short white drinking straw, small safety pin, aluminum foil pieces with burnt brown residue on them, and wrapped up tissue paper with white powder inside, suspected to be cocaine,” read the complaint.

Brown was charged with Possession, Burglary, Criminal Mischief and more.

A hearing will be held on 1/23 at 11:00, at 1025 us rt 522 in Selinsgrove, PA.
