Local 14-Year-Old Girl’s Snapchat Story Pic Leads to Drug Charges Against Williamsport Man

A 14-year old girls Snap Chat story picture of a local party which appeared to show drugs led to the arrest of a Williamsport man at 80 Baldwin Blvd. in Shamokin Dam on 9/21/18, according to police.

An 18 year old man, was arrested after someone spotted the picture of marijuana and possibly meth in the unidentified teenage girls SnapChat story post inviting people to a party at the address that featured the man in the background of the picture.

A caller to 911 reported “a 14-year-old female had snaps on her Snap Chat story of her inviting people to a party in Shamokin Dam. The snap contained images of marijuana and possible meth.”

“Upon approaching the apartment, Officer observed loud voices coming from the apartment due to the apartment door being open and occupants preparing to depart the residence. Open approaching the open door and looking into the apartment, your affiant immediately observed Marihuana, a blue “Gav Cap” and a plastic bottle with burnt residue,” read the criminal complaint.

The man was charged with, Corruption of Minors, Possession, and more.

A hearing will be held on 10/24, at 11:00, at 1025, us rt 522, in Selinsgrove Pa.

Selinsgrove has been trying to deal with a serious drug issue for years.

A day after an Orange Street News investigation revealed a shocking rise in heavy drugs like heroin inside of Selinsgrove High School during the last school year, Superintendent Chad Cohrs acknowledged just how big of a drug problem is confronting the school in a letter to parents asking for the public’s help.

“The Selinsgrove Area has been experiencing a marked increase in drug activity which is impacting our students,” read the letter from last year. “While drug and alcohol usage is not something new, the frequency and types of drugs we are seeing is cause for increased concern. The use of prescription medications such as Xanax, Vicodin, and Oxycodone are on the rise. Use of other street drugs, such as heroin, are also increasing.”
