EXCLUSIVE Hole-Cutting Grove Man Busted By Former Co-Workers After Allegedly Swiping Merchandise

A Selinsgrove man was charged with theft after allegedly attempting to swipe over $1,000 of merchandise from his former employer after cutting a hole in a fence on 9/28/18, according to police.
Mitchell James Pope, 29, was arrested for stealing $1,005.98 worth of merchandise from Lowe’s at 1389 North Susquehanna Trail — yellow storage tote, a black storage tote, and two vacuums after eagle-eyed employees allegedly spotted their former co-worker in the act.
“The employees related they saw Pope take a black and yellow storage tote from the store with out paying for it. The employees observed that a hole had been cut into the fence around the garden center, through which Pope had passed the merchandise before exiting the store. The employees related they observed Pope retrieve items from the exterior of the fence near the hole and place them in his car before driving away,” read the criminal complaint.
Police checked surveillance footage, which allegedly showed Pope pushing a cart with the stolen property.
Pope was charged with, retail theft, receiving stolen property, and criminal mischief.
A hearing will be held on, 10/17, at 9:15, at 1025 us rt 522, in Selinsgrove Pa.
