Selinsgrove Holiday Spectacular!

Selinsgrove is gearing up for an epic Christmas season!

Thirty five different local businesses are upping there holiday spirit with cheery promotions, including festive drinks special sales, and activity’s that could lead to big prizes sponsored by the Selinsgrove Chamber of Commerce.

Beginning right now is the Holiday Passport and Guessing game. To play you get a holiday passport from the Selinsgrove Inn at 214 N Market St, or Graci’s flowers at 901 N Market St.

Once you have the passport, all you have to do is stop at all the participating businesses. (Listed in the picture below.) All the businesses will have a number at the location, which you place in your passport.

The more businesses you stop by the more chances to win!

“If you get all 35 numbers you get 88 entry’s if you guess the number right you get an extra ten which is 98 entry’s,” Helen Walter, the owner of the Cottage on Pine told the Orange Street News.

When finished, take the passports to the Selinsgrove Inn or Graci’s Flowers to be entered into the drawing. They will draw 20 names for 20 different prizes. The first name called will receive the grand prize, a Amazon Echo Show, provided by the Chamber of Commerce. Passports are due on the 15 of December.

“Its a really good way to get people to come to our businesses, and we have people say that they have lived in this town for years and just drove buy all these businesses [until now],” Walter, who is also Chamber President told the OSN.

There are also games!

In the window of Whet Stone Kitchen on Market Street is a pile of ornaments, place your guess to the number on the star on top of the tree and win a prize!

Happening on December 1st is the Santa Pet Parade. At the Santa Pet Parade you are encouraged to wear red and white and have there pets dress in “there most creative holiday attire.” It will be an eight block walk, registration is at 1pm and the parade begins at 2pm. The parade ends with Santa at the commons.

Also on the December 1st is a fun activity for the kids where you decorate a Christmas stocking. For this you need to pre register by calling the Cottage on Pine at 570.374.8992. It is $5 per child, the proceeds go to the SU student organization. It is located at Graci’s Flowers.

After that on December 4th there late shoppers night where local businesses will stay open late and offer special deals.

Other local businesses providing deals include the Mustard Seed and the Kind Cafe, which will be introducing new seasonal drinks, including peppermint bark lattes, gingerbread lattes, and more.

“We are trying to give seasonal options,” a Kind Cafe manager told the OSN.

BJ’s will also have holiday sales starting today.

“For every $25 dollar gift card you buy you will get a coupon for free bongo bongo dip,” BJ’s manager Heather Harriman told the Orange Street News.

When ever you buy a $25 gift card BJ’s will also give a dollar to Mostly Mutts.
