A Port Trevorton woman was allegedly caught with drugs devices after allegedly driving recklessly driving and without a license while texting, on 11/18/18 at SR 522, Monroe Township.
Brianna Renee Dewitt, 24, was charged after police allegedly spotted her weaving over the center roadway while on her cell phone texting. When police pulled her over they found a glass pipe in her purse with Marijuana residue inside. Dewitt claimed that she did not have a license and that it was her friends car.
“I approached the driver and informed her that she was stopped for weaving over the center of the roadway. I asked her if she was on her phone. She said that she was on her phone. I requested her license, registration and insurance. She said she did not have a license. As I talked to the driver I detected a strong odor of Marijuana. […] Dewitt said the vehicle belongs to her best friend. She was going to pick her up in Sunbury. Dewitt was coming from Selinsgrove. I asked Dewitt to exit the vehicle while I searched it. Dewitt’s purse was on the front passenger seat. A glass pipe with Marijuana residue was located inside the purse,” read the criminal complaint.
Dewitt’s license was suspended on 7/13/17, according to police.
Dewitt was charged with The controlled substance, Drivers Required to be licensed, Driving on Roadways land for traffic, and more.
A hearing will be held on 12/11, at 12:30, at 1025 us rt 522, in Selinsgrove Pa.
