The Selinsgrove Library is upping its holiday spirit with this Christmas tree and wreath decorating contest!
At The Rudy Gelnett Memorial Library, located at 1 N High St. in Selinsgrove, you will see 20 festively decorated trees and 6 wreaths spread out around the library! Each tree is based on a children’s book, some trees are even donating their book to the library. This is called Tree Fest which is a yearly holiday contest.
“Tree Fest is every year. People come in and decorate there tree based on kids books,” Library employees told the Orange Street News.
At the library entrance there is a booth where you can purchase tickets to vote on your favorite decorated tree or wreath. Tomorrow is th last day that they are exepting tickets.
“They make me smile,” a local seven year old, Georgia told the Orange Street News when asked about the trees, “Cause they are all decorated.”
Georgia shows us her favorite tree, based on the book, “We’ve Got the Whole World In Our Hands” by Rafael Lopez. The tree is decorated rainbows, stars, people, and animals.
The tree was decorated by Saint Pauls UCC youth group.
Alex, a kinder-garden student shows us his favorite tree, based on “Walter the Farting Dog” by William Kotzwinkle, and Glenn Murray. The tree is decorated with dogs, dog bones, a fart sprayer, and even a farting greeting from Walter!
The tree was decorated by Middleburg Elementary Kindergarten.
