A Selinsgrove man who had stabbed and nearly strangled his wife only five months ago had been freed from prison, only to go to allegedly drug and rape another woman on 4/17/19, according to police.
Ricky Lee Spriggle, was charged with the new crime after the alleged victim called police and claimed she was raped by a unknown male. First, the woman called her boyfriend and told him that she did not know where she was, but was okay. The boyfriend called police, who then called the alleged victim’s phone.
The woman told police, “…she had been with a male who took her to a one room apartment somewhere in the Borough above a barroom. The victim was tired and falling asleep. Then the suspect crushed up a pill into powder and had her inhale the substance through a black straw to wake her up. It didn’t. And this angered the suspect because she could not preform a sexual act. She then lost consciousness and last remembers being bitten and the suspect bending her over, removing her pants and underpants,” read the criminal complaint.
Spriggle has also been charged in the past. Spriggle was charged after allegedly stabbing and strangling his wife with a power drill because she did not go to work on 11/29/18 , according to police.
“He came into her room and began yelling at her about why she did not go into work today. She related that he then grabbed ahold of her and they fell into the closet. […] [VICTIM] related that he had got on top of her and grabbed her be the throat and pressed his motorcycle helmet against her lower chest. {VICTIM} related that she was having trouble breathing while he held her by the throat,” read the previous criminal complaint.
A Selinsgrove resident who knew Spriggle said that he is a dangerous man who never should have been allowed back out on the street. “He is messed up. I mean, he stabbed his wife with a power drill and tried to choke her. The fact that a few months later he is wandering around free on the streets is a travesty,” the man told the OSN.
The OSN reached out to District Attorney’s office to find out why Spriggle had been released out on the streets. The District Attorney was not immediately available for comment.
Snyder County District Attorney Mike Piecuch has been under fire for inappropriate behavior and last year was slapped down by a judge for banning people who had different opinions from him on his public social media page.
This time, Spriggle was charged with Rape, Unauthorized Administration of Intoxication, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Assault, and more.
A hearing will be held on 5/21, at 2:00, at us rt 522, in Selinsgrove Pa.

the da did not let Rick out on bail it was a judge and you only know one person’s side of what happened.i am against domestic violence but I do know Rick and he is not a bad person and Mike piecuch is getting blamed for something he had no part in.just saying..u can’t always just assume.
