A Patagonia restaurant is making the best out of a bad situation.
James and Alexis Banks, the owners of Crown B Taqueria has announced that they are closing for two weeks to try to prevent the spread of the coronavirus — but will be donating all of their food to the Patagonia Senior Center and Youth Center.
“We donated all of our food to the Youth Center and Senior Center. Thirty pounds of chicken, tortillas, rice, basically any fresh food we had,” Banks told the OSN.
“Last night we donated boxes and boxes of tacos to anyone who stopped by and saw our sign,” added Banks.”
According to their website the mission of Senior Citizens of Patagonia is to “provide transportation to seniors and handicapped citizens who cannot transport themselves to medical appointments and grocery shopping..”
All though it will be tough for business to shut down, Alexis says that health should be a priority.
Alexis told the Orange Street News “We’ve already jumped ahead of the problem. We would never want to contribute to this problem. We would be fine, but most of out clientele is 60 plus. It will absolutely hurt us financially but health is more important than wealth.”
See you all soon. hope all goes well for you and the family. Will miss you guys but you’ll be back in a couple of weeks.
