Gov. Doug Ducey and Superintendent Kathy Hoffman announced that Arizona public schools will be delayed until April 10th to try to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
“Patagonia schools will be closed through April 10, 2020. As we get new information we will get it to you ASAP,” read a recent post on the Patagonia Public School Facebook account.
Yesterday Patagonia was declared to be in a state of emergency. Businesses have not been forced to close, but are asked to take precautions.
Crown B Taqueria, The Hummingbird Sanctuary, and the Nature conservancy are just a few places that have been shut down because of the coronavirus.
“It is proclaimed and ordered that in order to flatten the curve of the spread of the COVID-19 virus, keep our hospitals from becoming overwhelmed, and maximize available funding,” read a flyer being handed out to local businesses.
