What is winter with no ice skating?
Some are worried that Little Norway II, the borough’s ice skating rink may not open this year.
Last year the free rink at 101 E. Sassafras St. opened up to the public during the second week of January but this year’s warm weather has officials worried that it might not open at all.
“Its up in the air,” an official told the Orange Street News.
The popular ice rink is staffed and maintained 100 percent by volunteers Skaters are hoping for a quick weather turnaround.
“A lot of kids like to go there,” Selinsgrove resident Jess Runkle told the Orange Street News.
However, good news could come soon for ice skaters. A cold spell could be on the way.
The Farmers Almanac predicts a “snowy and unseasonably cold” winter for Pennsylvania.
