A fight between a brother and a sister from Shamokin Dam left one man with lacerations after he was struck with a metal garden hook on 4/14/17, according to police.
Police were called to an active fight at 3527 N. Old Trail in Shamokin Dam between Kaylynn Fleming and Shawn Fleming at 2:09 pm. The fight started for an unknown reason, according to the criminal complaint.
Kaylynn told police it all began after her brother began harassing and pushing her, according to the criminal complaint.
“The Defendant stated that she got into an argument with her brother after her brother started harassing her for an unknown reason. The defendant also stated that Shawn pushed her and threatened to hit her with a shovel and that she struck Shawn with a metal garden hook and then left the scene to take her children fishing to the river.”
But Shawn told police a different story.
“…(Shawn) stated that he and the defendant got into an argument and that she picked up a metal shovel and threatened to strike Shawn. Shawn in self defense pushed her away and took the shovel away from her. The defendant picked up the metal garden hook that was placed in the yard, that she picked it up and threw and struck Shawn in the back,” Read the criminal compliant.
Kaylynn is charged with simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
The hearing will be held on 4/27/17 at 11:00.
