Attempted Alleged Lowe’s Heist Foiled by Alert Employee

An Ohio man was charged with Receiving Stolen Property after allegedly spending over $3,000 in kitchen appliances from Lowes Home Improvement store on a credit card that wasn’t his, on September 8, 2017.
Dale Lee Doane, 52, allegedly attempted to buy, a Refrigerator, a Washer and Dryer, and a power cord out of the credit card account of ‘Epic construction’ at Lowes Home Improvement on 1389 Susquehanna Trail, but was caught after Lowes contacted Epic Construction.
“Two individuals at the store to pick up an order. The order was placed on 9/1/17 and consisted a refrigerator, washer and dryer, and power cord. The value of the order amounted to $3060.89 A related order was attempted on 9/8/17 for a $1424.05 dollar appliance. Both transactions were delayed when the store contacted the card account holder, (Epic Construction) who advised them that he did not order any appliances,” read the criminal complaint.
Latroy Byrd was there at the same time as Doane, but claimed did not know Doane or what happened.
A hearing will be held on 9/21 at 9:45 on 1025 US RT 522 Selinsgrove PA.
