A Northumberland woman was charged with theft after she allegedly attempted to steal over $200 worth of groceries from a Selinsgrove grocery store on October 19th.
Falisha Marie Reigel allegedly went to Weis Markets on RT 522 in Selinsgrove and attempted to swipe $216.64 in groceries by going through the self-checkout and only paying for a few items, but was caught after employees allegedly caught in her the act, according to police.
Reigel was not alone, according to police.
“XXXX related that two W/N-F’s went to the self check counter to pay for various items and groceries in their shopping cart. EMPLOYEE related the two W/N-F’s only paid for a small portion of their groceries in their cart.” read the criminal complaint.
The alert store employee stopped Reigel and her alleged accomplice as they tried to walk out the sliding glass doors, according to police.
Reigel was charged with theft and recieving stolen property, according to police.
A hearing will be held on 1020 RT522 in Selinsgrove on December 19th at 9:45am.
