A Coal Twp man was charged with theft after allegedly attempting to steal purses and clothing from a local store on November 8th, 2017, according to police.
Dorris Curran allegedly walked into Boscov’s, grabbed two purses and some clothing items, stuffed them in a Boscov’s bag, then walked out of the store without paying, according to police.
“Upon entering the store, the defendant did select items from around the store to include two purses and items of clothing. The defendant did conceal these items in a Boscov’s bag. After continuing around the store the defendent did exit past all registers and did exit the store with the merchendise without paying.”
An alert employee brought Curran back inside where the suspect handed back the allegedly stolen items, according to police.
Curran was charged with retail theft.
A hearing will be held on 12/20 at 10:15 am at 1025 US RT 522.
A man named Dorris? That’s certainly unusual.
