Local Man Charged with Stealing Electronics

A Watsontown man was charged after allegedly stealing $700 worth of merchandise from a local store in Monroe township, according to police.


Bruce Edward Cox, 31, was allegedly busted trying to swipe a Chrome laptop computer, a Sega Genesis Portable Game player and other merchandise from Target at 501 Market Place blvd on 10/22/18. Two days later, 10/24/18 Cox was then seen stealing other laptop valued at 349.99, according to police.


“The defendant grabbed two items from the electronics section of the store and put them in his shopping cart. These items were identified by the assets protection Team Leader as HP X360 Chrome 11 laptop valued at $299.99 and a Sega Genesis portable game player valued at $49.99. […] [on 10/24/18] The defendant was seen putting another laptop valued at $349.99,” read the criminal complaint.


Cox was charged with Retail theft, and Receiving Stolen Property


A hearing will be held on 12/17 at 11:00 at 1025 us rt 522 in Selinsgrove Pa.
