Little Norway II is making a comeback!
After a year of no ice skating in Selinsgrove, Little Norway II could be opening in a few short weeks, rink volunteer Walt Nichols told the Orange Street News.
“We are hoping to open it sometime in January,” said Nichols.
Officials blamed “unseasonably warm weather” for preventing the free ice skating rink from opening at all last year. This year the Farmers Almanac predicts a “snowy and unseasonably cold” winter for Pennsylvania.
Last October, the rink received new lights and a new water line was installed to the popular Water Street rink.
Now residents are hoping they can put all the new upgrades to good use.
‘’It gives the children, the adults, and the college students something to do,’’ Walt Nichols, a volunteer at the skating rink told the OSN.
‘’I think its [the skating rink] a good thing, the only thing I don’t like is when the water doesn’t cooperate,’’ Nichols told the OSN.
